One of the biggest time wasters on the web is something this site rarely touches on: Web-based games.
Flash games can be addictive in their simplicity and often use unique play mechanics to separate themselves from the boatload of other games available for people to play on the Net.
Earlier today I came upon the above game entitled This Is The Only Level, an interesting little title with a "meta" quality to it: There is only one level to play. What changes isn't the "stage," but the control scheme you must use to defeat it.
Um, but as anyone who lived during the late '70s or early '80s knows, this isn't a unique concept: Back then EVERY game only had one level. Some of the greatest games of all-time essentially only had one level: Space Invaders, Centipede, even Pac-Man were one level wonders.
Still, you got to give the designer credit for his IGNORANCE!! (And I was able to kill about 30 minutes doing "research" on this topic.)
